Victor Veber
Veber works like an archaeologist of the present: he digs into classical language to bring to light something that is not ancient, but profoundly current.
The beauty here is not intact, it is crossed;
It does not impose itself on the gaze.
It doesn't ask for distance.
It invites you inside.
Biography
Victor Veber (b. 1994, Lyon) is a French sculptor whose work combines classical tradition and contemporary sensibilities.
Trained according to classical canons and deeply inspired by the figurative art of the ancient masters, he also draws on the language of modern and contemporary art to define his practice.
Before dedicating himself fully to sculpture, Victor studied literature, cinema, and philosophy in Lyon. He then spent three years working at Strasbourg Cathedral as a stonemason and sculptor, where he honed his technique in direct dialogue with the historic architecture.
At the age of 23, he received the Prize of the Strasbourg Society of Arts and Museums and was invited to exhibit at the START European Art Fair. He subsequently won the BMB International Sculpture Competition, and his works have been exhibited in Strasbourg, at the Taylor Foundation in Paris, in New York, in Barcelona, and at the Lyon Opera.
In the 2020, Victor moved to Florence to continue his studies at the Florence Academy of Art. Two years later, he co-founded CORPO, a sculpture studio in Florence, where he continues to produce his works today.
